AFP is looking for a highly motivated salesperson that thrives on building relationships with customers, enjoys selling high-quality custom products and services to OEMs, and is driven to acquire new customers. We are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our growing organization, based in Chaska, MN (suburb of Minneapolis), to service our Southeastern Territory (AR, AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA). Our Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for selling high-quality, custom-made parts to Original Equipment Manufacturers and Contract Manufacturers across a variety of industries. They will focus on collaborating with engineers and buyers, using technical knowledge of our processes and materials along with strong negotiation skills to introduce material and manufacturing solutions that create problem-solving parts and win new business opportunities.
Be our Technical Sales Specialist:
You will be highly motivated to be outside selling/prospecting 60-70% of the time with the objective of growing the territory’s overall sales volume. You’ll increase business with the current customer base and convert prospects into customers. You will develop relationships that assure customer retention, identify new opportunities, and generate interest in AFP’s capabilities and materials. Actively grow the SE Territory through data mining, cold calling, and product shows. Build connections and provide value to secure and close business opportunities.
Be the Technical Expert!
Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to solve problems for customers and prospects with the objective of becoming their first call for solutions. Our sales team is provided internal and external training on raw material selection and our custom manufacturing solutions. You should be inspired to actively research and broaden your knowledge of our materials, capabilities, and processes, ensuring technical expertise over our competitors.
Be Organized and Efficient!
Maintain complete and comprehensive contact/activity information in CRM and ERP database.
Responsible for understanding and following all quality, CMMC, ITAR, AS9100, and safety protocols of the company.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• BA/BS degree in related field.
• 2-4 years of previous business-to-business sales experience, with manufacturing experience calling on OEMs preferred. Knowledge of foam, rubber, and plastics fabrication is a plus.
• Knowledge of custom manufacturing processes in our industry.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (not company provided)
